It May Not be Fine…But He is Faithful!

We live in a world that often encourages us to smile through the pain. It tells us to say “I’m fine” even when our hearts are breaking. But sometimes, the truth is—it’s not fine. Life hurts. The weight feels too heavy. The path ahead looks too long.

But even when it’s not fine, He is still faithful.

God never asked us to pretend.

He invites us to trust. And there’s a big difference. Pretending says, “I’m okay.” Trusting says, “I’m not okay, but I know the One who is.”

“Greater is He who is in me, than he who is in the world.”
1 John 4:4 NIV

This verse isn’t just a comforting saying—it’s a declaration of victory. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. The same God who spoke creation into being stands beside you. Even when everything around you feels uncertain, you can rest in this truth.

What’s within you is greater than what’s against you.

The enemy wants you to believe you’re alone, defeated, or forgotten. But Scripture reminds us otherwise:

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” – Psalm 121:1-2

That verse is both a question and an answer. Where does my help come from? When I’m overwhelmed, when I’m afraid, when I’ve run out of strength—where does my help come from?

It doesn’t come from my own ability. It doesn’t come from others’ approval. My help comes from the Lord—the One who made the heavens and the earth.

The One who set the stars in place also holds your life in His hands. The One who shaped the mountains also shapes your story. And even when life is not fine, His faithfulness is not shaken.

He is not surprised by your struggle. He is not distant from your pain. He is the ever-present help in times of trouble, the steady hand when everything else slips away.

So today, if your heart feels heavy, if the road feels long, whisper these words to your soul:

It’s not fine, but He is faithful.
He is greater.
My help comes from the Lord.

Hold on to that truth. Because while the world may shake, your foundation never will.

A Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You that even when life feels anything but fine, You remain faithful.
Remind me that You are greater than what I’m facing, stronger than my fears, and closer than my next breath.
Help me to lift my eyes to You, my Maker and my Help.
Teach me to trust You in the middle of my “not fine” moments,
knowing that Your faithfulness never fails.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

With love and joy,

Laura
